From vines to wine
Château Moncontour's wine museum gathers in its former cellar, a vast number of tools used by generations of wine makers.
The visitor will discover very clearly the work of the wine grower, month by month, at the vines and at the cellar. Over two thousands tools are gathered here: pruning knives, debalkers, boilers (that produced hot water to boil the vine stocks and clear them of their parasites), a cross made of camphor designed to fight phylloxera and which made the fortune of the priest who sold them, crushers, presses of all kinds, etc.
As a conclusion of the visit in our formers cellars there is always a wine testing.
